Dear Parents,
The Interfraternity Council is proud to be representing the eight Greek Fraternities at Longwood University. As a council we strive to represent the fraternities providing them with many opportunities to become a citizen leader. Along with opportunities to each fraternity member we provide chances for the chapters to better thier chapters, the campus, and the Farmville community. Longwood's history of Greek life has gone back to 1978 and only has become stronger year to year. We are ever growing and hope for more great Greek organizations to join our campus.
As a parent thinking of letting their sons join our organizations, we have eight organizations that set high standards that go along with their morals and beliefs. We believe you as the parent should be involved in this wonderful opportunity and to be supportive of the opportunity for your son. The Interfraternity Council will be more than willing to put in the time and effort to give every detail of information to you and your child so they make the best choice.
Once becoming a member the Council will provide chances for your child including community service and leadership classes and conferences. Community service opportunities will begin in the community with Madeline's house and FACES, and even spreads outside the community with the IFC Alternative Spring Break. These are just a few of the many service projects that are provided here at Longwood and IFC. We also provide numerous classes that will teach your son how to become a leader in the chapter, campus, and community. IFC is also excited to provide an opportunity to go to FUTURESQUEST where the person selected learns about leadership and bringing out the potential in themselves.
We hope that you and your son will find the perfect fit and will be excited for the opportunities they will recieve. Feel free at any time to contact the Office of Fraternity and Sorority life (434-395-2118) or Billy Boulden (434-395-2106) if you have any questions or concerns.
Thank you,
Interfraternity Council Executive Board
